The team at Adventure Paddle School has water in their veins. Their location in the Kootenay Rockies, gives them access to some of the most picturesque waterways and lakes in British Columbia. They are passionate about getting people out on the water and helping you to fall in love with paddling, be it in a kayak, raft or stand up paddleboard.

Lessons are available for people of all abilities. Adventure Paddle School's instructors will make you feel comfortable and confident, whether it's your first time picking up a paddle or you're a seasoned whitewater racer.

Local Knowledge & Certifications/Training

Adventure Paddle School focuses on paddling progression and offer kayak and stand up paddleboard lessons for beginners to advanced, with special coaching for kids. All lessons are delivered by highly trained whitewater kayak and stand up paddleboard (SUP) instructors.

They specialise in whitewater kayak instruction, or you can try one of their popular SUP yoga, SUP river or raft evening floats.

Types of Experiences and Trips Provided

SUP Yoga
Located on beautiful Lake Lillian. This one hour on-water session challenges every muscle, while also allowing for relaxation and stillness, and embracing the experience of floating and practicing in the outdoors. The session easily caters to beginners of both yoga and stand up paddleboarding. Rental boards are available. Prices start at $20 per person.

SUP Fitness
This is an hour long exercise class all on a stand up paddleboard. The challenge of trying to keep yourself balanced while executing movements will engage your whole body and help with tone and general fitness. Rental boards are available. Prices start at $20 per person.

Kayak Coaching
Adventure Paddle School is renowned for kayak instruction. Two day, four day and specialty clinics are offered for beginners to advanced kayakers. You can try paddling whitewater for the first time, learn the basics of flatwater kayaking or become an instructor or swiftwater rescue technician.

Stand Up Paddleboard Skills
Master a new skill, learn to race, brush up on your technique or take an introduction into SUP river paddling. All levels of SUP enthusiasts are catered for.
