Helena is conveniently located half-way between Glacier and Yellowstone National Park. It is Montana's State Capitol and has a surprisingly relaxed feel compared to other state capitols, but don't think that means it's void of things to do. The vibrant downtown area has an incredible amount of things to explore and experience. Stroll the pedestrian friendly Helena Walking Mall where you will be greeted with all locally owned shops, restaurants/cafes, breweries/distilleries, museums, and art galleries. If you are a history buff you will enjoy installations nodding to the days of gold and Lewis and Clark's expedition.
Ask any Montana and they will tell you Helena is the place to go for sun and fun! When you are done experiencingDowntown Helena and Historic Reeder's Alley, strap on your hiking/biking/running shoes and explore over 75 miles of trailsaccessed directly from downtown.
Do you geocache? Helena was named #1 Town in America for Geocaching by Rand McNally Atlas.
