Knotty Pine Meadows is situated on a bench in the Crowsnest River Valley at Burmis, Alberta. The Heritage Tree, a Limber Pine has been dated to over 600 years. This tree stands at an elevation of 4100', where prairie grassland meets mountain meadow. The stunning backdrop makes for a photogenic tree.

Knotty Pine Meadows was formed in 1999, when the site around the Heritage Tree was purchased. It also hosts a delightful assortment of over 100 species of flowering plants. Beautiful, intricate, and complex, the native wildflowers of Knotty Pine Meadows return year after year to regale the meadow once again with their beauty, poise, and fragrance.
