Lakeside Swiss-inspired lodging makes this 1915 hotel a convenient base for hiking Glacier's largest concentration of trails. Many Glacier Hotel is situated on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake and rests at the base of Mt. Grinnell where five mountain valleys intersect.
Partially renovated in 2016, this secluded, five-story hotel contains 2 suites, 7 family rooms and 205 guest rooms offering lakeside, deluxe, standard and value lodging options. The hotel has five floors accessed by stairs. Rooms in the Main Lodge are accessible by elevator. Suites facing Swiftcurrent Lake are located on floors one, two, and three. It is the largest hotel within Glacier Park and is operated by the National Park concessioner, Xanterra Parks & Resorts.
The hotel was declared a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
Many Glacier Hotel is located in the Many Glacier valley of northeastern Glacier National Park. Take Highway 89 north from St. Mary to Babb, turn west onto Many Glacier Road, drive 12 miles.
Lodging Style and Amenities
Breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner are served in the Ptarmigan Dining Room. The Ptarmigan Dining Room’s setting is only rivaled by the continental cuisine it has become so well known for. Set alongside a lake and against a panoramic backdrop of peaks and vistas, every sense will be satisfied. Along with the Dining Room, a newly renovated Swiss Lounge will be open for lunch and dinner. Heidi's Snack Shop is available for healthy snacks, sandwiches and beverages.
For 2017, Many Glacier Hotel will open sporting a new lobby and the addition of deluxe rooms with king and queen beds. The return of the Spiral Staircase should be completed during the 2017 season. All guest rooms at Many Glacier Hotel are rustic, yet comfortable. In keeping with the era in which the hotel was built, the rooms offer guests modest amenities and old-world style accommodations. There are no televisions or air conditioning. All rooms have private bathrooms, direct dial telephones, deluxe king and queen beds or standard double and/or twin beds.
