Claresholm & District Museum was established in 1969 and continues to preserve and exhibit the history of Southern Alberta. A special feature is a 1912 CPR train station.

Claresholm is an agricultural centre for the region. It sits at the foot of the Porcupine Hills where the plains meet the foothills.
