Whitefish, Montana Trail Guide
Located in Montana's Glacier Country, Whitefish, Montana sits on the south shore of Whitefish Lake, at the base of the Whitefish Range and is a basecamp for a wide range of year-round multi-use trails for hiking, paddle boarding/kayaking, mountain biking, equestrian, snowshoeing, and nordic skiing. It's best known for The Whitefish Trail, a user-supported community driven trail system, with over 42 miles of forested natural surface trails and 12 trailheads/connectors located in and around town. Ride or hike from town, take quick drive to trailhead or dependent on your accommodation request shuttle to and from trailhead.
Don't leave town without hiking up Big Mountain to the north of town, on the famous Danny On Trail. This hike offers gondola access (if needed) to the Summit Nature Center where you can enjoy sweeping views of the Flathead Valley, Glacier National Park, Canada and so much more.
